The system is available for - Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP using either GNU SDK (included in package) or Microsoft SDK (MS Visual C++ 6.0) - Linux x86 - Macintosh MacOS 8.5-9.x, PowerPC - SUN Solaris 2.7 or later, SPARC It can be downloaded from http://www.mjolner.com/mjolner-system/download_en.php Release 5.2.2 is primarily a bug fix release with numerous small bug fixes and improvements all around the system. A few new features is included, though: - GUI environment demo cleanup (ongoing process) - "Periodic" demo showing different GUI demos in separate Tabs - TreeView - TableView (Rows and Columns) - Icons & cursors - Tooltips - Tabs - Scroller More of the demos are expected to be integrated into this structure in a later release. The source of each Tab is placed in a separate sub directory. - Mjolner Tool: - Improved stability - Menu shortcut clean up - now more according to standards - Ability to open and browse a dump file from a crashed program ("post mortem debugging"). - XML support - Interface to "expat" XML parser added - Oracle interface - Native (non-odbc) interface to Oracle databases added - PNG support - All platforms now use PNG as the native Pixmap format. For more general information on the Mjølner System see http://www.mjolner.com/mjolner-system/ This release is the last release for classic Macintosh (MacOS 8.5 - 9.x). Development of a MacOSX version has been initiated, but no plans exists for a release date. Notice that Hewlett-Packard HP-PA and Silicon Graphics MIPS platforms are no longer supported. For linux, this release fixes the bug reported by several people, that programs compiled from BETA on a linux box with binutils 2.11 installed will crash immediately when executed. This is was due to a binary inompatibility between the object files generated by previous BETA compilers and binutils 2.11. -- Sincerely, Peter Andersen, Mjolner Informatics
