Whenever I try to start beta.exe I get a nice Window saying "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. [...] BETA caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:00000001" where the address is sometimes different. So compiling is only possible using SIF - there are no problems then. And use of BETAGUI is only possible as an editor because compiling does not work, too. But then there's another problem - when I use BETAGUI (or any other text-editor) and try to "Compile current" using SIF I get an error-message saying "Source file ..... has been changed since last access. The file must have been changed by another application.Quit immediately (and restart) to avoid further problems." So it is only possible to edit the file using BETAGUI or any other text-editor (of course SIF, too - but I prefer BETAGUI) then to start SIF, select "Compile current" and to start the executable file. If I want to edit the file and do not want tu use SIF I have to quit SIF first, then edit my BETA-source-code using any text-editor (or BETAGUI) and have to start SIF again for compiling....and so on. My questions are: how can I edit source-code without using SIF as an editor and compiler? How can I get rid of the "illegal operation" when trying to start beta.exe? These problems occur under Windows 95 AND Windows NT! Thanks for your help S. Kimmel
