Massive parallelism by definition can not be emulated in software
so must therefore be targeted as a goal in computer architecture.

Instead of trying blindly to build either a semiconductor or bio-
mass (neurons grown in culture) replica of the six Laminae of the
human neocortex, it makes sense to insist for each implementation
of the tremendously complex and therefore costly PDP-grid that it
shall achieve and demonstrate a particular level of functionality
as demanded by the implementation of this model of consciousness:

Primitive silicon, gallium arsenide or biomass architectures must
demonstrate first and foremost sequential engram-deposition along
with a moderately successful activation of associative crosstags.

What does this gobbledegook mean in engineering plain-speak?  You
must form a repetitive accretion of an analog of nerve cells that
lie in wait on the PDP grid for their moment to shine in the life
of the robot/cyborg/Nooousia (Mind-Being).  As an advancing front
of consciousness floods the PDP mind-grid with incoming data from
sensory perception, "England expects each synapse to do its duty"
by freezing in amber, so to speak, its momentary state in the ag-
gregate of perception, so that a  TWO-WAY ASSOCIATIVE RECALL PATH
remains as a LOGICAL STRUCTURE embedded within the physical grid.

Tantalizingly difficult ideas these are but:  oblivion is futile;
you will be ascendentalized and remember this Meme till you grok.
