This was indeed true at the time of the first edition. I do have the document quoted, which I used to check my Simula examples. I am now preparing the second edition; since I haven't closely followed the official Simula scene, I don't know if there is any more recent official version of the standard. I was not able to find a comp.lang.simula newsgroup, so comp.lang.beta seems the best place to ask. If you have the information please e-mail it to me. (I can summarize on the newsgroup if anyone wants me to.) I will be most grateful for any help. -- Bertrand Meyer, ISE Inc., Santa Barbara (California) 805-685-1006, fax 805-685-6869, - ftp://ftp.eiffel.com Web home page: http://www.eiffel.com (The "lapel pin" [??] indicates adherence to the SELF-DISCIPLINE program for better Usenet discussions.
