Is it not possible to make a AppleScript based >MakeSystem? Beta 3.0 will run fine with MPW 3.2. I'm sure that one could expand the environment with AppleScript. The Beta environment adds a menu to MPW to make it more palatable. It is still MPW though, and not an integrated environment like Symantecs C++ or Metrowerks C++. There is no debugger and no incremental linking, which makes the build cycle to slow. Also , the syntactic editor, has not been released for the Macintosh. The MacEnv frameworks is pretty good and there are a lot of small sample programs which mostly compiled and ran fine for me. I wish there was a sample application with multiple files, I got stuck trying to implement a file of global variables and header type files for an application I was trying to convert from C to Beta to test the waters. I did get some nice support from Erik Ernst but have become overwhelmed with my other work to be able to spend any more time on Beta at the present. -- Baiss E.
