Yes, I was at the BETA tutorial at
TH Darmstadt, together with 20 to 30
other participants -- and it was worth 
to do all the way from from Munich to
Darmstadt, because the lecturer -- 
Mr. Wilfried Rupflin from Universitaet Dortmund -- 
sustained effort and enthusiasm all day to explain
to the audiance the aspects/concepts of
BETA. Many hints and references to other
OO programming languages for comparison
made us starting to appreciate the novel
amd outstanding concepts of BETA, e.g.
just to mention a few:

- patterns as a unifying concept
- nested, sub- and virtual patterns
- singular and part objects
- static and dynamic object references
- coroutines and concurrency
- exceptions

In the afternoon there was even the chance
to exercise BETA on the Mjolner BETA System --
after all it showed -- it works!

And besides all that -- the tutorial was free.
Thanks to the lecturer Mr. Wilfried Rupflin
and the host, Prof. Dr. H.-J. Hoffmann,
TH Darmstadt.
