Well for one thing the compiler itself is written in BETA.

Hopefully we will be able to have a version ready when Windows 95 is
release. We have tested our alpha version of the compiler (for Windows
NT) and have found almost no bugs. Some adjustments had to be made to
make it work with Windows NT as well as Windows 95. The M7 release of
Windows 95 is actually the first Chicago/Windows 95 version that would
let us run the BETA compiler (is this connected to the name change? :-)
All previous versions up to (and including) the M6 release would crash
instantly.
